Sound Bath by Candlelight (Including Indian singing by Rabia) (CANCELLED)

Experience the soothing power of sound with our immersive 90-minute candlelit Sound Bath in York, where healing vibrations, ancient musical traditions and calming ambience come together to restore balance and peace.
We are delighted to welcome a special guest artist for our sound bath in York. An artist of traditional Indian singing with deep connection to Raga—the expressive, melodic framework of Indian classical music— which creates a spiritual and emotional sound journey unlike anything else in the area. Her music brings an authentic and soulful presence to the session, offering a rare opportunity to experience the beauty of Raga in a therapeutic, meditative setting.
For this sound bath Lauren is joined by Rabia, who will take you on a meditative sound journey using Voice, Guitar, Tanpura and Pentatonic Flute. Using the knowledge of traditional Indian Raga and mantra, she will create a beautiful yet soothing soundscape to nourish mind, body and soul…
To begin the session, her melodic voice accompanied by the Tanpura, a traditional drone instrument with a trance like quality, will set a meditative tone, gently guiding you into a state of relaxation and mindfulness. The rich, immersive sounds of Raga are known to align the mind and body, preparing you to fully embrace the transformative power of the sound bath.
Her artistry and passion for this timeless tradition make her a perfect complement to the healing vibrations of both the crystal and Himalayan sound bowls, and the Chinese wind gong. Together, this collaboration promises to be an unforgettable journey of sound, energy, and tranquility.
Whether you’re seeking stress relief, emotional release, or a deeper connection to yourself, our sound bath offers a unique space for healing and renewal. Join us and let the sounds wash over you, bringing you to a state of balance and peace.
About Rabia:
Hi I’m Rabia and I’ve been studying Indian Raga music as a vocal and spiritual practice for over a decade. Singing is like a meditation for me, it helps me to tune in a connect to all that is sacred. In mysticism we understand that music and vibration itself is what makes up the cosmos, raga and mantra music therefore has a great potential to create calm and healing through its beauty and depth. It can free us from what we don’t need, cracking and shedding the dross if you like, of the material realm, getting the energy flowing, allowing Joy to emerge in our hearts. As well as Indian raga I love to sing mantra and share Kirtan in groups. I sing Turkish devotional music and lead whirling events as well as Dances of Universal Peace.
If you can’t attend the ticketed classes listed below, we are always available for private & group bookings, by arrangement.
Please feel free to get in touch to discuss the possibilities
