In the Now – A Mindfulness & Meditation Workshop for Stress Relief, Anxiety & Everyday Calm

January 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
£20.00

As the new year begins, many of us feel the desire to start differently — to slow down, breathe more deeply, and have the tools we need to manage stress, anxiety, and everyday pressures with more ease. In the Now is a gentle 2-hour mindfulness and meditation workshop rooted in the teachings of Thích Nhất Hạnh, offering practical, compassionate ways to meet life in the present moment. This workshop offers a calm and welcoming space to step out of busyness and reconnect with the now — with kindness, not pressure. Suitable for all levels. No previous experience with yoga or meditation is required.

What This Workshop Includes

During this 2-hour experience, you will be guided through practices inspired by Thích Nhất Hạnh’s approach to mindfulness, including:

  • Mindful tea drinking, a simple practice taught by Thích Nhất Hạnh to help you arrive fully in the present moment
  • Gentle, accessible yoga movements to support the body with care and awareness
  • Simple breath awareness practices, learning to use the breath as an anchor during moments of stress or anxiety
  • Mindfulness philosophy and reflections, offering an introduction to Thích Nhất Hạnh’s core teachings on presence, impermanence, and kindness in daily life
  • Exploration of different types of meditation, designed for busy lives — including walking meditation, mindful pauses, awareness during daily activities, and short practices that can be woven into everyday routines
  • Guided seated meditation, learning how to practise mindfulness in a gentle, supported way
  • Deep rest through Yoga Nidra, allowing the body and mind to fully relax and restore

All practices are offered in a trauma-aware, invitational way, with chair options and adaptations available.

A Gentle Introduction to Mindfulness

Mindfulness, as taught by Thích Nhất Hạnh, is not about stopping thoughts or escaping life. It is about learning how to be present with what is already here, with kindness and compassion. In this workshop, you will be introduced to his teachings in a way that is:

  • Accessible and easy to understand
  • Grounded in everyday life
  • Supportive for stress, anxiety, and emotional wellbeing

There is no pressure to “do it right” — simply an invitation to notice and be.

This workshop is open to everyone, including:

  • Anyone experiencing stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm
  • Those wanting to begin the new year feeling more supported and resourced
  • Beginners curious about mindfulness, meditation, or Thích Nhất Hạnh’s teachings

  • Anyone seeking rest, grounding, and emotional balance

You do not need to be flexible, spiritual, or experienced — just willing to arrive as you are.
